Taproots brings these passions to life by weaving them into our beer, our spaces and the initiatives we support through through the following programs:

ON US

One night per month, every month, “On Us” focuses energy, donations, and a spotlight on area nonprofits and initiatives. As part of our Taproots program, this series is our chance to directly give back, each and every month, to people and organizations doing incredible — and often unsung — work in the Lakes Area. In essence, this round, this night’s on us.

Each event runs from 6-8 p.m. and includes a short presentation by each organization. Additional materials and information will be made available. West O Beer is also committed to donating a portion of the day’s proceeds to each organization.

ON TAP

West O Beer’s “On Tap” program features beers brewed in collaboration with — and supporting — area partners. From directly raising money, to raising the profile of select Lakes Area initiatives, “On Tap” puts our beers directly where our heart is. Beers brewed at the source, with collaboration and community in mind from step one.

OKOBOJI GOLD™

A Helles Style Lager featuring German Saaz hops for a touch of citrus flavors and aromas and Honey Malt for a hint of sweetness. Gold in color with a balanced flavor profile, subtle maltiness, moderate hop character and a clean, crisp finish. A portion of sales of this beer will help support Keep Okoboji Blue’s mission — “Keeping a clean water vision for future generations!”

THE FLAGSHIP™

A collaboration with Historic Arnolds Park and No Boundaries Middles, THE FLAGSHIP™ was brewed to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of The Queen II — the premiere excursion boat of the Iowa Great Lakes and the ‘Flagship of the Iowa Navy’ since 1986. Featuring notes of pine and refreshing citrus, this West Coast-style India Pale Ale cruises across the palate, riding a wave of pleasant bitterness with a crisp, semi-dry finish that beckons for another sip. A portion of the proceeds will benefit Arnolds Park Amusement Park’s ‘Gift a Smile’ program to provide day passes for underprivileged children.
